Concept and design. When a communication doesn’t have an obvious selling proposition like a discount, competition, or list of restaurant recommendations, it can be tougher to engage customers. This email goes out on rainy days, when a discount as incentive would be counter intuitive, and aims to engage customers with attractive visuals. This email campaign also included matching designs for weather conditions like snow, and extreme heat. We tested animation versus static, unsurprisingly the animated version had higher redemptions and CTRs.
